Community Use of School Sporting Facilities Program

Increasing community access to school sporting facilities across Western Australia.
The Community Use of School Sporting Facilities Program aims to facilitate partnerships and agreements between schools and community sporting groups to better utilise existing facilities and will be prioritised in areas of high demand for sporting facilities.
The program, developed by the Department of Local Government Sport and Cultural Industries (DLGSC) and the Department of Education, will identify, expand and enhance opportunities to:
- increase access to sporting facilities for community sporting groups
- improve school sporting facilities to enhance useability
- support schools in making their sports facilities accessible outside school hours without compromising student safety or educational activities
- encourage partnerships between schools and community sporting groups through community use agreements.
- focus on areas of high demand for community sporting facilities.
The funding will be allocated to ensure facilities are appropriate and accessible for community sporting use.

The Regional Athlete Travel Subsidy Scheme provides funding assistance to regional Western Australian athletes who aspire to reach their full sporting potential.
The Regional
Athlete Travel Subsidy Scheme (ATSS) is an initiative supporting
regional athletes who have progressed into the high performance pathway
of their chosen sport and are pursuing regional, state and national
representation.
Eligible regional athletes can receive funding for out-of-pocket
travel and accommodation expenses directly related to competitions and
programs in accordance with the performance level categories and
eligibility criteria outlined in the application guidelines.
Subsidies for regional athletes are provided through the State Government’s Royalties for Regions Program.

The Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries (DLGSC) has developed the Community Place Based Grants Program to support community-led initiatives that address local priorities for vulnerable children and young people who require extra support to achieve positive life outcomes through sport and recreation activities.
The Community Place Based Grants Program provides financial support to organisations to develop and deliver co-designed, place based structured sport and recreation holiday and out-of-school activity programs in identified regional locations in Western Australia.
The program includes a process to work collaboratively with local government, Aboriginal leaders and community service organisations to incorporate sport and recreation in community-led activities and events that target vulnerable children and young people and their families.
The DLGSC is seeking applications from organisations in targeted regional and remote locations in Western Australia for projects that will achieve the program’s outcome and objectives.
The DLGSC encourages organisations to consider applying for Community Place Based initiatives that support and broaden diversity and inclusion.
Community Recovery Grants Program

The Community Recovery Grants Program supports the well-being, psychosocial recovery and resilience of communities impacted by the flooding associated with ex-Tropical Cyclone Ellie.
It funds local groups and community organisations to deliver activities and events that will assist the community to recover, reconnect and build capacity for future change with an emphasis on social and emotional wellbeing. The program’s key focus is to ensure that communities can access resources and services to support their ability to heal and build community resilience.

Sport and Recreation Inclusive Participation Program

Creating inclusive, accessible, safe and welcoming environments, operations and participation opportunities in sport and recreation.
The Sport and Recreation Inclusive Participation Program (IPP) provides financial support to organisations to create inclusive, accessible, safe and welcoming environments, operations and participation opportunities in sport and recreation settings for people from low participation groups.
This includes support to provide entry level or skill development participation opportunities, education and training opportunities for the sport and recreation workforce, including volunteers, and develop partnerships with a minimum of one other organisation.
DLGSC is seeking applications for
projects ranging from 1 to 3 years that will support participation for
all in sport and recreation activities by reducing the barriers to
participation for low participation groups across Western Australia.
