Our diverse organisation is supported by exceptional, everyday people from all walks of life and many different backgrounds who are supported to genuinely contribute to inclusivity in the workplace.
We are proudly an equal opportunity employer committed to workplace equity. We support diversity and inclusion in the public sector because it makes us stronger as an organisation, and better able to meet our community’s needs. We strongly encourage people with disability, people from culturally diverse backgrounds, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, women and youth to apply for positions.
There are lots of benefits to taking up a role with DLGSC:
We occasionally have short term (up to 6 months) opportunities available across a range of positions.
If you are an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or hold an appropriate work visa, you can apply to the temporary employment register by uploading your resume.
After lodging your application, we may contact you if a suitable vacancy becomes available. Your resume will stay on the register for 3 months. After 3 months you will need to reapply.
The Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries Graduate Program aims to advance graduate career opportunities in an exciting, supportive and diverse environment.
The 12-month program is facilitated through rotational work placements and structured training. It's designed to provide exposure to diverse operations and develop valuable skills and experience.
Graduates will undertake research, policy and project activities across the department’s service areas. This will provide the opportunity to develop sound knowledge and professional expertise that supports and enhances business activities, as well as the knowledge and confidence needed to start a successful career within the public sector.
